Lawrenceville, GA (March 29, 2007) - Network Communications, Inc. (NCI), the leading publisher and provider of printed and online real estate information and advertising in North America, today announced the acquisition of New England Home magazine, the leading design and architecture publication serving New England.
New England Home has grown rapidly from its first issue in September 2005 of 180 pages. The bi-monthly magazine's latest issue has 324 pages with over 250 advertisers. New England Home focuses on the luxury home market in New England and has a circulation of 60,000.
New England Home was launched by veteran publishing entrepreneur Dan Kaplan, who will continue to run the publication. All of the company's 17 employees will remain.
"My team and I are excited to be working together with NCI, as they have a proven track record for producing quality products. NCI will provide us with the resources to gain a much larger distribution as well as the added authority that comes along with being a part of the NCI stable of Home Improvement and Design titles," said Kaplan.
"Dan Kaplan and his team have done a phenomenal job launching New England Home," said Adam Japko, President of NCI's Home Improvement and Design division. "New England Home's quality and execution have been second to none. We are thrilled to have them join the NCI family."
Japko added, "Adding New England Home, one of the largest regional home design titles in North America, to our rapidly expanding portfolio of local home remodeling and design titles adds significant scale and opportunity for consumers and marketers of services and products designed to enhance the home living experience. Home Improvement and Design is the fastest growing part of NCI, reaching over one million affluent consumers willing to invest substantially to improve their homes. This latest acquisition allows us to make a dramatic move into the New England states and to combine our strong national relationships and proprietary web capabilities with the business' strong local relationships, helping it to achieve even greater scale."
