HOMEOWNERS HOT FOR HOME IMPROVEMENT:
METRO WASHINGTON HOME IMPROVEMENT MAGAZINE
LAUNCHES IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

Local Home Improvement Market Thrives; As the Third Fastest-Growing Market
Right Behind Miami and Los Angeles

Alexandria, VA – (August 1, 2006) – From faucets to floors, a new roof or a dream kitchen, American consumers are spending hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars improving their homes. According to The U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce, expenditures for improvements and repairs of residential properties in 2005 were estimated at $215.0 billion -- an increase of 8.3 percent from the previous year. As the third fastest growing home improvement market in the country, homeowners in the Washington, D.C. area will now find the process of sprucing up their home much easier. Network Communications, Inc., the largest and fastest-growing publisher of local print and online magazines for the real estate market, today announces the launch of Metro Washington Home Improvement. Published monthly, the new magazine will provide homeowners in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area with information on decorating, design, landscaping, home building, home repair and maintenance, ideas and products.

“We are very excited about bringing this magazine to Washington,” said Vince Mannino, Publisher of Metro Washington Home Improvement Magazine. “The timing couldn’t be better. Nationally, the home improvement and remodeling category is booming, and locally, the same is true of the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area. Now homeowners have a top-quality source where they can easily find inspiration, ideas and the local resources they need for their home all in one place. We are looking forward to providing readers with the content they seek when they are active in the home improvement process, and advertisers with the qualified prospects to help their local businesses grow.”

The launch of Metro Washington Home Improvement Magazine is just the latest sign of strategic growth in NCI’s home design division. Recent acquisitions include Atlanta Home Improvement (October 2005), At Home in Arkansas (November 2005), Relocating in Las Vegas (November 2005), Home Improvement Dallas (June 2006), and Accent Home & Garden and Accent on Lifestyle Magazines in July 2006. As a result, NCI’s Home Design Division portfolio now totals 13 publications, spanning Atlanta, Colorado, St. Louis, Kansas City, Seattle, Las Vegas, Dallas, New England, and now Washington, D.C.

“Launching Metro Washington Home Improvement Magazine gives a big boost to our home improvement and design division,” said Adam Japko, President, Network Communications' Home Design Division. “It not only provides quality marketing and lead generation programs to local and regional remodeling service and product advertisers, but it also gives us a presence in a market that’s really hungry for home improvement and design information. It’s a great addition to our ever expanding division, and we couldn’t be more excited.”
