NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS, INC. ACQUIRES
ORIGINAL APARTMENT MAGAZINE

Leading Multi-family Publication and Website
Serves The Greater Los Angeles Market

Lawrenceville, GA (October 3, 2006) – Network Communications, Inc. (NCI), the leading publisher and provider of printed and online real estate information and advertising in North America, today announced the acquisition of The Original Apartment Magazine, a biweekly publication and website offering consumers timely information about apartments for rent in the greater Los Angeles market. NCI also acquired a magazine distribution company, Distribution Systems, Inc. in the transaction.

The Original Apartment Magazine is a leading publication in Los Angeles, Orange County, Inland Empire, and Long Beach/South Bay, and represents sizable growth for NCI’s multi-family area which is anchored by the Apartment Finder magazine brand, currently serving more than 100 markets across the United States.

"This acquisition is very important for us as we expand our geographical footprint in the multi-family market, and allows us to make a dramatic move into Southern, CA which we are very excited about. In addition, NCI brings a wealth of strong national relationships and proprietary web capabilities to the business which should help it grow to its full potential," said Marcia Bollinger, Apartment Finder’s Senior Vice President.

Original Apartment Magazine’s Senior Publisher, Jamie Jump adds, "We are thrilled to be working with NCI and Apartment Finder. Not only is the parent company the best at helping its brands succeed at the local level, but the Apartment Finder division is solely focused on the multi-family market and can help take our publications to the next level."

In the last three years, Apartment Finder's client base has grown 63%, while revenues have increased nearly 60%. Apartment Finder is not only the preferred choice of critical information for apartment shoppers, but also the top pick for the advertisers that need to find quality renters. In addition to Apartment Finder and Apartment Blue Book publications, NCI operates ApartmentFinder.com, a leading website for people searching for apartments.
